John Shumway, MD

John Shumway, MD, is a radiation oncologist who specializes in advanced radiotherapy techniques, including intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and brachytherapy.

Dr. Shumway is committed to providing personalized care that meets the unique needs and

preferences of each patient. He explains, "My number one priority is to provide the best treatment possible and make my patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their cancer treatment journey."

From an early age, Dr. Shumway knew he wanted to be a doctor. He discovered oncology in medical school and knew right away that it was the field for him.

Dr. Shumway is happy to be a member of the El Camino Health team because of their shared goals of providing the highest level of personalized care to every patient.

Outside of work, Dr. Shumway enjoys spending time with his wife and children, playing the piano, running and experiencing the beautiful, natural wonders of the Bay Area.
