Joseph Michael Hayek, MD

Dr. Joseph Hayek is a skilled and honored ophthalmologist, who provides services including diagnosing, monitoring, and treating all ocular and visual disorders. Additionally, he specializes in cataract surgery. After graduating summa cum laude from John Carroll University with a Bachelor of Science in cell and molecular biology, Dr. Hayek received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, during which time he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He then completed a transitional year residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Hayek served as chief resident during his ophthalmology residency at Summa Health in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Hayek has done research on topics ranging from ocular injections to conditions such as optic neuritis and corneal ulcers. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Medical Association.
