Priya Jayachandran, MD

Priya Jayachandran, MD, FACP, is a medical oncologist who specializes in breast cancer. She's dedicated to helping each patient achieve their best possible outcome.

Dr. Jayachandran blends cutting-edge science with compassionate care. She remains at the forefront of oncology advancements and works to build strong patient relationships. She appreciates the trust that patients place in her and is committed to partnering with them throughout their cancer journeys. She says, "I enjoy working together as a team, fighting cancer and celebrating health victories."

Dr. Jayachandran first joined the El Camino Health team as a high school volunteer and was later a hospitalist here. Following time as an academic oncologist, she returned to El Camino Health in her current role. She appreciates that El Camino Health provides world-class healthcare that is tailored to each patient as an individual.

Throughout her career, Dr. Jayachandran has received several honors, including the Press Ganey Top-Decile Patient Satisfaction Performer nationally (2023, 2024), USC Gold Star provider with 5/5 rating, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology's Conquer Cancer® Merit Award (2021).

Dr. Jayachandran conducts research focusing on targeted immunotherapies, novel biomarkers, clock genes, fasting mimicking diets, and neurotransmitters and cancer

She is fluent in English, Spanish and Tamil.

Outside of work, Dr. Jayachandran enjoys art and classical Indian dance. She loves animals and fosters kittens with the Humane Society.
