Katharine Nelson, MD

Katharine Nelson, MD, is an allergist and immunologist who works with children and adults. She diagnoses and treats allergies, asthma and immune deficiency disorders. She specializes in the treatment of allergic rhinitis, food allergies, hives, drug allergies and asthma.Outside of work, Dr. Nelson enjoys biking, hiking, skiing and crafting. She loves animals and has multiple dogs, cats and chickens, and she lives with her family in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
Dr. Nelson is involved with the South Bay chapter of the American Medical Women's Association and has served as a former board member and past president. She has contributed to the education of medical students at Stanford University as adjunct clinical faculty and enjoys mentoring high school and college students who are interested in medical careers.
Dr. Nelson feels it is important to educate patients about their conditions and treatment options. Together, they make decisions about which solutions best fit the patient's unique needs. She explains, "I'm committed to helping people improve their quality of life. I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families - especially since many allergic diseases are inherited."
